According to a new survey by SnagAJob.com 40% of the people who took the survey thought it was blessingin disguise.
The top reason (62%) - people now know how to get by with less
There are other interesting reasosn as well. Here are a few selected ones:
- 27% laid off since December 2007 said they found a better job
- 49 % said they used the time off to reconnect with family and friends
- 28 % said it better prepared them for the next obstacle that life throws their way
- 21 % feel that losing their job was the push for them to go back to school
- 16 % are now concentrating on pursuing the career they've always wanted
For these people losing a job turned one of those defining moments in life. They used it to concentrate on the positive side rather than the negative. That's a lesson for all of the work force that losing a job is not the end of the book. It's the beginning of another chapter. It's upto the individual to do one hell of a chapter!
